The town has participated in the [[Japan Exchange and Teaching Programme]] since the early 1990s, when [[Assistant Language Teachers]] based in the Takaoka County education office would occasionally visit its junior high school to assist in teaching English. Since April 1, 2007 the town has had two representatives of the JET Programme that are actually based there, teaching English and participating in international exchange programmes. The town also coordinates a cross cultural exchange programme for the local junior high school and another junior high school located in Korea.

Ochi (越知町, Ochi-chō) is a town located in Takaoka District, Kōchi Prefecture, Japan.

As of April 30, 2017, the town has an estimated population of 5,847[1] and a density of 52 persons per km². The total area is 111.58 km².

The town has participated in the Japan Exchange and Teaching Programme since the early 1990s, when Assistant Language Teachers based in the Takaoka County education office would occasionally visit its junior high school to assist in teaching English.
