Avenue Supermarts Ltd, d/b/a, DMart is a chain of hypermarket and supermarkets in India founded by Radhakishan Damani in the year 2002.[1] As of 2018, it has 154 stores spread across Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan, National Capital Region, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Punjab.
DMart is promoted by Avenue Supermarts Ltd. (ASL).[2] The company has its headquarters in Mumbai.
After the IPO
After the IPO listing, it made a record opening on the market on NSE. After the close of the stock on 22 March 2017 'Avenue Supermarts Limited' the market value it became of Rs 39,988 crore, which is remarkable and recorded itself the 65th most valuable Indian firm ahead of Britannia Industries, Marico and Bank of Baroda. As of 16 September 2017 the market capitalization of D Mart is close to ₹67,000 crore (i.e.) above US$10 Billion.
