Religion?

I searched online and I can't seem to find any source that states he is jewish. If you know of any please cite it, his personal page only states that he is Lebanese and Brazillian. Thanks ----Indy racing 23:06, 20 April 2006 UTC-5

With a middle name like " Rizkallah", it is doubtful that he is jewish. ...allah is arabic for God. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.4.75.184 (talk) 21:42, 25 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

portuguese wikipedia says that he's jew, but i don't believe... i think he's catholic... —Preceding unsigned comment added by 201.37.123.218 (talk) 07:03, 14 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Name

I removed the line that was stating that, due to Portuguese naming costums, Kanaan is a maternal name and Filho would be the paternal one. This assertion was completly false, as Tony Kanaan has no maternal name. "Filho" means son in Portuguese and, in this context, has the same meaning of "junior". Tony Kanaan's father was named Antoine Rizkallah Kanaan and his son has exactly the same name, with the only difference of having "Filho" in the end. When Portuguese speaking people have names like Júnior (Jr.), Filho (son), Filha (daugther), Neto (grandson), Sobrinho (nephew), among others, it is usually because their whole name, apart from that last word, is the very same of someone else in the family, and that last word can not be considered a Family name. It is true that Portuguese naming costums frequently feature a maternal name before the paternal one, but having no maternal name is not uncommon. 187.20.6.38 (talk) 22:35, 3 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
