Devara Hipparagi is a town of Sindagi Taluk, Bijapur district, Karnataka, India.
Geography
Devara Hipparagi is located at 16°55′N 76°14′E / 16.92°N 76.23°E, about 37 km east of Bijapur and 23 km from Sindagi.[1] It has an average elevation of 500 metres (1640 feet). It is major market hub for near by villages. The location of Devara Hipparagi is very strategic & accessible by road. It is major junction to reach or divert the routes to Bijapur, Bagalkot, Indi, Gulbarga, Muddebihal, Talikot, Sindagi & Solapur.
Demographics
As of the 2011 India census,[2] Devara Hippargi is a large village located in Sindgi Taluka of Bijapur district, Karnataka with total 2899 families residing. The Devara Hippargi village has population of 16,554 of which 8,467 are males while 8,087 are females as per Population Census 2011.
In Devara Hippargi village population of children with age 0-6 is 2571 which makes up 15.53 % of total population of village. Village has a semi-arid climate. It has an average elevation of 606 metres (1988 ft).
The climate is generally dry and healthy. In summer, especially in April and May it is too hot; at that time the temperature lays between 40 degree Celsius to 42 degree Celsius. In winter season, from November to January the temperature is between 20 degree Celsius to 30 degree Celsius. Usually the district has dry weather, so the humidity varies from 10% to 30%.
