Daniel Downing (born 12 Dec 1997) is a professional footballer who plays as a striker for Blackburn Rovers in The Championship. He is known for his explosive pace and his eye for goal.

Daniel was born in Telford and played youth football with Blackburn Rovers Academy before starting his professional career with Blackburn Rovers. Daniel is the all-time leading goal scorer in The Championship. He has pledged his future with the club and signed a new 10 year contract. The manager of Blackburn Rovers, Steve Kean later added: Daniel is a fantastic player, committed and extremely skilful, He has outstanding work ethic and a credit for our football team.

Daniel won 32 caps with the England. Scoring 21 goals. The England manager, Roy Hodgson mentioned Even at a young age, this boy could perform on the big stage. Even with extreme pressure on him, he has the ability to maintain focus.

Early life

Daniel Downing was born in Telford. He attended Madeley Academy and represented the school for a number of sporting events. At an early age, Daniel knew he had sport on his blood.
