Jerome Wiley is a web developer who has been informally extolling the virtues of Wikipedia for several years. His main philosophy regarding Wikipedia is that the longer one maintains a semi-active account, the more authority accrues to said account. In wading into a situation where several contributors will have to make a decision about the inclusion or exclusion of a given section of content, for example, editors with older accounts may be perceived to have more authority than anonymous users or editors with day-old accounts.

Jerome gained his interest in Wikipedia almost at the start of the project, using it's resources in 2001 or 2002, and creating and editing entries very early on. It was not a long reach for him, having created the first departmental web page for the Hanover College history department in 1993, and helping to guide and tutor countless Hanover students in their first internet steps between 1993 and 1996, when he was a senior member of the various computer labs on campus.

Currently, Jerome is seeking to take his Wikipedia knowledge to the next level, and is searching for a group of local Wikipedians (DC area) who meet regularly to enhance their editing skills.

He has also generously contributed money to the Wikipedia coffers almost every campaign cycle.
