Devesh Ranjan is an Indian actor based in Mumbai, who has won global recognition for his role as ‘Shyam’ in the internationally acclaimed film Vara: A Blessing, directed by Khyentse Norbu. [1][2][3][4]
Early life
Ranjan’s father was the Commissioner of the Board Of Revenue, Cuttack, Odisha and his mother a homemaker.
Ranjan completed his bachelors in accounting from Vyasanagar College,Jajpur, Utkal University Odisha.[5] He then went on to do a company secretary course which he subsequently left to pursue
A career in Acting. Along with Acting Ranjan also mastered the classical Indian art form Chhau and learnt to play the flute during his time at drama school.
After attaining his diploma in acting Ranjan worked in plays with renowned directors in New Delhi.
Career
A screen test with Dilip Shankar landed him the opportunity to play the lead in Vara: A Blessing.
