Athira Patel is an Indian film actress who mainly appears in Malayalam films. She made her acting debut in 2016 with a Sanskrit movie called Ishti. She is best known for playing the role of Vincent Pepe's (Antony Varghese) sister in the movie Angamaly Diaries.[1]
Personal life
Her first entry into acting happened through a short film, when she was studying in class VII.[2] She is currently pursuing her first year in hotel management in Wayanad, Kerala.[2] Speaking about her last name in an interview given to Deccan Chronicle, she says that her paternal grandfather was a village head in Karnataka; who are called Patelars; which is derived to Patel, her last name.[2]
Career
She was interested in acting right from the early age of childhood,[citation needed] she did her first role in a short film called Vuja De, written and directed by Joby Varghese. Later in 2016, she debuted in a Sanskrit movie called Ishti in which she played the role of actor Nedumudi Venu's third wife. Patel played Mercy in the 2017 film Angamaly Diaries, which was directed by Lijo Jose Pellissery. In the same year she acted in Villain and Aadu 2.
She plays the female lead opposite to Appani Sarath in her upcoming Malayalam movie called Contessa.[3][4]
