The 2017–2018 Iraq Division One is the second tier of the Iraqi professional league. Two teams will be promoted to the Iraqi Premier League. The final round will start on the 8th of August.

The games are held at 50°, and each round will play during 72 hour, the competition ends two weeks before the start of the 2018–19 Iraqi Premier League.[1]

Format

Teams from all over Iraq participated in preliminary qualifications for the final round that consists of 12 teams.

Final Round

Competing teams were divided into two groups of six teams. Teams in each group played one another in a round-robin basis, with the winner of each group will qualify to the 2018–19 Iraqi Premier League.

Tiebreakers

The ranking of teams in the group stage is determined as follows:

  1. Points obtained in all group matches;
  2. Goal difference in all group matches;
  3. Number of goals scored in all group matches;
  4. Points obtained in the matches played between the teams in question;
  5. Goal difference in the matches played between the teams in question;
  6. Number of goals scored in the matches played between the teams in question;
  7. Drawing of lots.
