Athota is a village in Guntur district of the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. It is 9 km from Kollipara mandal.
History
Athota's government has issued a mandate to identify the zones and villages coming under the Andhra Pradesh Development Authority Cooperative Research and Development Agreement (CRDA). Most of the villages identified at present are in the VJT. Previously, some of the villages in the area of VMT were joined with other villages in the area. The Chief Secretary of the Municipal Council issued orders for identifying mandals and villages in Guntur and Krishna districts coming under the CRDA.[3]
Governance
Athota, being a part of Kollipara mandal, falls under Tenali (Assembly constituency) for Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly, which in turn is a part of Guntur (Lok Sabha constituency).[4]

The CRDA also comes under the mandate of Tadapalli, Mangalagiri, Tululgur, Duggiri, Tenali, Tadikonda, Guntur Mandalam, Cebrulos, Madikondur, Pidakakani, Vatticherukuru, Amaravathi, Kollipara, Vemooru, Kollur, Amrutralur and Chundur mandal.

There are doctors at a primary health center at Athotha. One has paramedical staff. There is also a veterinary clinic where there is a doctor and a paramedical cobbler.
The above mentioned primary health center, is around 5 to 10 km from the village. Mother/Child Care Center, There is a hospital called TB hospital which is 10 km away from the village. If you go further, there are some more hospitals called the Alopati Hospital, Alternate Drug Hospital, Nomadic Medical Center, and Family Welfare Center.

Demographics
According to the 2011 Census, this village spreads across 711.00 hectares and comprises 1723 homes and 5628 inhabitants. The number of males in the village was 2793 and the number of females was 2835. The number of Scheduled Caste people was 708 while the number of Scheduled Tribes was 70.[5]
