Oh, a bit AGF on your GF revert but can you explain futher why is not useful? KGirlTrucker81 huh? what I'm been doing 01:56, 4 September 2016 (UTC)
- @KGirlTrucker81: there are a few reasons: A) it's redundant to what is already implied in the warning. B) it's confusing. What is the "Even if" supposed to be modifying? The sentence before it that states, essentially, that asking when you're clearly not ready is just a waste of time? And C), it really breaks the flow of the warning. I won't be able to respond to your reply, because this is the last post I'm going to make tonight. G S Palmer (talk • contribs) 03:20, 4 September 2016 (UTC)
RFA
BlackAmerican would like to nominate you to become an administrator. Please visit Wikipedia:Requests for adminship to see what this process entails, and then contact BlackAmerican to accept or decline the nomination. A page will then be created for your nomination at Wikipedia:Requests for adminship/G S Palmer. If you accept the nomination, you must state and sign your acceptance. You may also choose to make a statement and/or answer the optional questions to supplement the information your nominator has given. Once you are satisfied with the page, you may post your nomination for discussion, or request that your nominator do so. |
- @BlackAmerican: I appreciate the offer, I really do. However, I don't feel that I'm ready for adminship at this point, and real life matters limit the amount I can edit Wikipedia, so I wouldn't have time to devote to an RFA. So I'm afraid I must decline. Thanks for your understanding, G S Palmer (talk • contribs) 22:14, 13 September 2016 (UTC)
How much time does an RFA require? Also, I have seen many semi active admins. All the best! BlackAmerican (talk) 22:19, 13 September 2016 (UTC)
- @BlackAmerican: from what I've seen, it requires the candidate to be there, ready to answer questions, for the entire week. G S Palmer (talk • contribs) 03:46, 14 September 2016 (UTC)
I'm happy that you created an article about the author of Re:Zero, but do you think that Wikipedia is really ready for an article about him? Personally, I don't feel that he meets WP:AUTHOR yet - he comes closest to meeting point #3, but I don't think he quite meets it. Perhaps it would be best to redirect it to Re:Zero for now, like I did with Okayado and Monster Musume? G S Palmer (talk • contribs) 13:02, 25 September 2016 (UTC)
- Yeah, I had doubts about it, but I risked. If you will redirect it to the article, I shalln't see a problem.--White DemΩn (el psy congroo) 13:14, 25 September 2016 (UTC)
- @White Demon: okay, Done. Sorry about that. Hopefully we'll need an article on him sometime in the future. G S Palmer (talk • contribs) 17:11, 25 September 2016 (UTC)
Orphaned non-free image File:Mahō Shōjo Nante Mō Ii Desu Kara. promotional art.jpg
Thanks for uploading File:Mahō Shōjo Nante Mō Ii Desu Kara. promotional art.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --B-bot (talk) 03:05, 5 October 2016 (UTC)
ORCP
Hi GS, I’ve just been having another look at your entry at WP:ORCP. It may well be time for you to take a serious decision now. Let me know what you think. Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 05:48, 17 October 2016 (UTC)
- @Kudpung: if you're suggesting that I run for adminship, I'm busy IRL at the moment, but might have time around the middle of December (I can't guarantee any time before that). However, I wouldn't feel comfortable self-nominating, so if I were to run, I would need someone who would be willing to get the process going. New deal for page patrollers
Hi G S Palmer,
In order to better control the quality of new pages, keep out the spam, and welcome the genuine newbies, the current system we introduced in 2011 is being updated and improved. The documentation and tutorials have also been revised and given a facelift. Most importantly a new user group New Page Reviewer has been created.
Under the new rule, you may find that you are temporarily unable to mark new pages as reviewed. However, this is nothing to worry about - most current experienced patrollers are being accorded the the new right without the need to apply, and if you have significant previous experience of patrolling new pages, we strongly encourage you to apply for the new right as soon as possible - we need all the help we can get, and we are now providing a dynamic, supportive environment for your work.
Find out more about this exiting new user right now at New Page Reviewers and be sure to read the new tutorial before applying. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 04:29, 13 November 2016 (UTC)

Copyright question
Hi GS, In this edit at List of Twin Star Exorcists episodes, I pulled out a ton of content because they were dumped without proper attribution by a sockpuppet of Sage of the Six Paths who was indeffed months ago for copyright violations. He apparently still doesn't know how to copy within Wikipedia while giving proper attribution since it looks like he may have yanked them out of the main Twin Star Exorcists article. Anyhow, I notice that some of the episode summaries may have been contributed by you. Can you verify which of the summaries you wrote from scratch? If you did, then they could be restored to the article with proper attribution to Twin Star Exorcists (per WP:CWW). Otherwise, they'll have to be omitted. Many of the summaries were identical to summaries found at Wikia, but in the case of this episode summary it looks like you submitted it several days before it appeared at Wikia. Any help you can provide here would be greatly appreciated. Thanks and sorry for the hassle. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 06:00, 31 December 2016 (UTC)
- @Cyphoidbomb: I wrote the episode summaries for episodes 1-8 (see this revision) from scratch. I'll add them to the list right away (with proper attribution, of course). G S Palmer (talk • contribs) 20:33, 31 December 2016 (UTC)

The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Call of Cthulhu: The Official Video Game. You are welcome to check how many page hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, Call of Cthulhu: The Official Video Game), and it may be added to the statistics page if the total is over 5,000. About info table on Re:Zero's manga adaptation of the 2nd arc
The serialization has stopped. The adaptation ends at chapter 20 (aside from the extra chapter). You can check the Re:Zero wiki, the official twitter or Mangaka the twitter. You can also read the last chapter on batoto.
http://rezero.wikia.com/wiki/Dainishou_Manga_Volume_4
Hope that helps.
Iron maw (talk) 08:53, 24 March 2017 (UTC)
- If you have a Tweet from the official Twitter account confirming serialization has ended, then you can use that as a source. Otherwise, the statement is OR. G S Palmer (talk • contribs) 12:49, 24 March 2017 (UTC)
- Hey, I did some searching and I found that the manga artist mentioned on Twitter that the manga ended in the issue sold at the end of December, and the following month they mention it again when they talk about the mayonnaise chapter that was published in January (which Crunchyroll also did an article on). So it would appear that the mayonnaise chapter was the last serialized chapter on January 25.--十八 20:08, 24 March 2017 (UTC)

Your recent editing history at Junji Ito Collection shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you are reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war. See BRD for how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.
Being involved in an edit war can result in your being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you don't violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly. —Farix (t | c) 03:21, 24 January 2018 (UTC)
Copyrighted Content on DARLING in the FRANXX Page
Hey there, could you help me understand what copyrighted information was included on the edits to the DARLING in the FRANXX page? Thanks so much! — Preceding unsigned comment added by MilesThomas (talk • contribs) 22:45, 4 February 2018 (UTC)
- @MilesThomas: you copy-pasted the summary from Crunchyroll into the synopsis section, which is not allowed. All content on Wikipedia has to be stuff that you've written, not copied from somewhere else (unless it's a quote). G S Palmer (talk • contribs) 12:32, 5 February 2018 (UTC)
- @G S Palmer: Which would explain my violation incident earlier. I edited the Akanesasu Shōjo page earlier without knowing the consequences of my actions. Sorry about that.Ram Roldan (talk) 13:40, 9 August 2018 (UTC)
- @Ram Roldan: It appeared that the character summaries you added to the article had been copy-pasted from this article on Anime News Network. Wikipedia can't use text copied from elsewhere, with a few exceptions, such as when the text is in the public domain, or for a quote: even then, proper attribution is needed to give credit to the original author. Take a look at Wikipedia:Copyright violations for more information on this.

- Because of this, it's usually impossible to write a plot summary or character introductions before a work comes out, since the only information we can use is the (usually limited) material released by the publisher. Even writing a heavily-edited version of the plot summary doesn't work, because it will necessarily be similar to the original text: see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing.
- I hope that helps. (By the way, you don't need to ping someone on their own talk page, because they get a notification regardless. Just thought you might want to know.) G S Palmer (talk • contribs) 13:54, 9 August 2018 (UTC)

Hi, I'm RonBot, a script that checks new non-free file uploads. I have found that the subject image that you recently uploaded was more than 5% in excess of the Non-free content guideline size of 100,000 pixels. I have tagged the image for a standard reduction, which (for jpg/gif/png/svg files) normally happens within a day. Please check the reduced image, and make sure that the image is not excessively corrupted. Other files will be added to Category:Wikipedia non-free file size reduction requests for manual processing. There is a full seven-day period before the original oversized image will be hidden; during that time you might want to consider editing the original image yourself (perhaps an initial crop to allow a smaller reduction or none at all). A formula for calculation the desired size can be found at WP:Image resolution, along with instructions on how to tag the image in the rare cases that it requires an oversized image (typically about 0.2% of non-free uploads are tagged as necessarily oversized). Please contact the bot owner if you have any questions, or you can ask them at Wikipedia talk:Non-free content. RonBot (talk) 18:30, 24 May 2018 (UTC)

Deletion discussion about Zombieland Saga
Hello, G S Palmer,
I wanted to let you know that there's a discussion about whether Zombieland Saga should be deleted. Your comments are welcome at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Zombieland Saga .
If you're new to the process, articles for deletion is a group discussion (not a vote!) that usually lasts seven days. If you need it, there is a guide on how to contribute. Last but not least, you are highly encouraged to continue improving the article; just be sure not to remove the tag about the deletion nomination from the top.
Thanks,
Etzedek24 (Would it kill ya to leave an edit summary?) 03:17, 6 July 2018 (UTC)
- There is a manga and anime wikia which doesn't have Wikipedia's requirements for articles. You can go to [1] and create your article there. Dream Focus 05:13, 8 July 2018 (UTC)
- @Dream Focus: please don't be patronizing to me. It's not as if the AFD is trending strongly towards delete. G S Palmer (talk • contribs) 16:25, 8 July 2018 (UTC)
- You are right, it could end up with no consensus default to keep. Or the closing administrator could say it doesn't pass the general notability guidelines, and just eliminate it from mainspace. Either way, the manga anime wikia I created to save articles from deletion on Wikipedia will still welcome your article if you want to stick a copy of it over there. Dream Focus 16:47, 8 July 2018 (UTC)
- Sorry I responded the way I did. It felt like you were just trying to shuffle me off to some fan wiki, and I didn't appreciate that. But if that's not what you intended, or even if it was, I shouldn't have gotten irritated at you. G S Palmer (talk • contribs) 16:50, 8 July 2018 (UTC)

Kobayashi Genre.
You undid my edit on Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid, wherein I added the genre of “Yuri” to the list, on the grounds that my citation makes no mention of this.
The article I cited speaks of the main characters as a lesbian couple, surely this would suffice as a point of reference for labelling it as “Yuri”, which is the anime/manga genre of lesbian love stories.

- @IronBridge: No, that would be WP:SYNTH. You need a source that explicitly refers to the series as "yuri". If anyone could use a source that says a: "well, this series contains this", and then use it as a basis to claim b: "well, this genre usually includes this, thus this series is this genre", then there would be no point in using sources at all, because the primary work can be used as a source for a, and thus you could assert that a series was a certain genre based merely on your opinions as to what defined that genre. And we can't have that, because Wikipedia only reports what has already been said by others, not the opinions of our editors. G S Palmer (talk • contribs) 15:54, 9 July 2018 (UTC)
Re:Zero − Starting Life in Another World
Hello, in the English title "Re: Zero - Starting Life in Another World", the translation for "ゼロから" is missing. --11 Tom (talk) 15:00, 28 July 2018 (UTC)
- @11 Tom: Fine, I'm not opposed to putting the literal translation (you said it was "Re: Starting Life in a Different World From Zero"?) in the article. It's not really a big deal, so I guess I shouldn't oppose it. G S Palmer (talk • contribs) 19:48, 28 July 2018 (UTC)
Okay! Thank you very much! But I think I put "start" instead of "starting" before you removed the change I made. 11 Tom (talk) 15:38, 31 July 2018 (UTC)
- @11 Tom: Just my opinion, but I think "starting" makes more sense than "start" in this context from a grammatical standpoint. G S Palmer (talk • contribs) 00:34, 1 August 2018 (UTC)
Okay, but I think "starting" is a noun. While "start" can be a verb. 11 Tom (talk) 11:29, 1 August 2018 (UTC)
- @11 Tom: I think you've got that switched around. Just look at "a start" vs. "a starting". The former works, the latter doesn't. G S Palmer (talk • contribs) 12:14, 1 August 2018 (UTC)
- Having "start" instead of "starting" also changes the meaning: "start life in another world" is a command, whereas "starting life in another world" is descriptive. G S Palmer (talk • contribs) 12:17, 1 August 2018 (UTC)
All right! And thanks for putting "starting" in the article "Re:Zero − Starting Life in Another World"! I thought to do it but you did it for me. 11 Tom (talk) 18:09, 2 August 2018 (UTC)
RonBot (talk) 17:19, 9 August 2018 (UTC)
