History
In February 1995, Eat Bulaga went to GMA 7 as Sa Linggo nAPO Sila transferred to Mondays to Saturdays ('Sang Linggo nAPO Sila) to create their new show called ASAP. ASAP means All Star Afternoon Party and not As Soon As Possible. The original ASAP gang were Dayanara Torres, Ariel Rivera, Martin Nievera and Pops Fernandez . Some of the members of the original ASAP gang left the show like Richard Gomez in 2000, Dayanara Torres in 1997 and Pops Fernandez, Ariel Rivera and Martin Nievera in 2003.In 2000 and 2001, ASAP added some hosts from SOP (Sobrang Okey Pare). They were Mo Twister and Vina Morales who left SOP in January 1999 and formed The Hunks who consist of young actors Piolo "PJ" Pascual, Carlos "Amir" Agassi, Jericho "Echo" Rosales, Bernard "BJ" Palanca, and Diether "Diet" Ocampo. In 2003, there was a big scandal between Regine Tolentino and Angela Velez. This was because Angela Velez spilled some kerosene on the dance floor and Regine Tolentino tumbled. Also in 2003, ASAP reformatted to ASAP Mania until 2005. In 2004, Pops Fernandez returned to the gang with Gary Valenciano, Kuh Ledesma, and the Singing Champions such as Sarah Geronimo, Christian Bautista, Erik Santos, Mark Bautista, and Sheryn Regis. ASAP Mania reformatted to ASAP 05 in 2005 and ASAP 06 in 2006.
February 2, 2003 controversy
Anyone who watched ASAP’s Clash Dance last February 2,2003 would notice. Regine Tolentino slipped, fell and tumbled so many times during her heart-pounding dance number that you would have to be blind not to notice. And that same afternoon, we saw a totally outraged Regine in The Buzz.
She accused fellow dancer Angela Velez of intentionally spewing kerosene on the same stage she was to dance on after Angela did her number, making the stage extremely slippery and very difficult to perform on. She said it was a deliberate sabotage and went on to say that she will never again dance with Angela because she just might end up six feet under!
The other side of the story? Live via phone patch a commercial break later, Angela aired her side. She said she was supposed to spew the kerosene for a fiery entrance but her lighter didn’t work so she had no choice but get rid of the kerosene in her mouth.
No, she didn’t swallow it, she did spit it on the floor and all over herself while her back was turned so the audience wouldn’t notice the blunder. She said she had no other option. It was just an accident, no intentions of harming Regine at all.
So, who won? It was a tie! That was for Clash Dance.
As to who will win in this word war, no one knows just yet. It would be better if they make this one a tie too.
Make peace girls!

Format
Not only do they sing and dance, but they also celebrate birthdays, introduce new albums with launchings, and there are also anniversaries. For the youth, they have a special segment called Full Circle where celebrity teens dance to urban music, which is usually a mix of Hip Hop and Pop. Champions from the famed two singing contests, Star In a Million and Search For the Star In a Million who consist of Rachelle Ann Go , Sarah Geronimo, Erik Santos, Mark Bautista, Christian Bautista, Sheryn Regis, Frenchie Dy, Kris Lawrence and Jerome Sala also join in the scene with their renditions of ballads and sometimes jukebox hits.
Ratings
The ASAP ranked no.1 from 1995 to 2005 and ranked no 2. in 2005 because SOP grabbed the no.1 spot. ASAP regained its rank as no.1 in July 2006 making SOP No. 2. SOP couldn't beat ASAP'06 in TV Ratings.
