RIRI is a Japanese singer-songwriter. She debuted as a singer under MIC-A-HOLIC Inc, agency that is responsible by famed Japanese singer-songwriter A.I.. In 2018, it was revealed that she would release her debut album under Sony Music label.[1]
History
Riri started singing at 4 years old, inspired by American R&B acts such as Mariah Carey, Beyoncé and Whitney Houston. In 2011, she won the Next Generation Star singing competition hosted by David Foster. And then in 2012 she attended The Dream Support Project Award in New York City, being it her first performance in the US. In July 2016, she debuted officially as a singer under THE MIC-A-HOLICS INC., that also manages singer-songwriter A.I., who supported the production of her first official single, GOLD and her debut EP, I love to sing. Both reached #1 on iTunes R&B Charts. In 2017, her second EP was released, RUSH.[2]
In 2018, she debuted under Sony Music Japan and released her debut album RUSH. It reached #1 in Japanese iTunes R&B chart. The album is produced by American producers Brian Soko and Damon Sharpe, who also worked with Ariana Grande and Beyoncé.[3]
