High density suburbs of Marondera are Nyameni, Dombotombo, Rujeko, Yellow City, Rusike Park and Cherutombo. Medium density suburbs are Ruzawi Park, Cherutombo, Garikai medium density suburb, Ruware Park, Ruvimbo Park and Morning Side. Low density suburbs are Paradise Park, Borrodaille, Winston Park and Lendy Park. Marondera is liked by many due to its close proximity to the city of Harare.{{Citation needed|date=June 2017}} It has a very low crime rate and the people are hardworking.{{Citation needed|date=June 2017}} The transport system within the town is mainly licensed private sector operations. Privately owned public transport consists of licensed buses, minibuses and taxis. == Demographics ==
The town is multi-cultural, with a variety of ethnic groups. Within the African population is a proportion of people of [[Malawian]] origin whose parents migrated and took employment on the white owned tobacco farms. The main faiths in Marondera are secular traditional Christians, evangelicals and mapostori (a sect of old testament bible followers who live like ancient prophets and may dress in white robes). [[Islam]] is practised by a small number of people in Marondera [[Asians]] and those people of Malawian descent. The indigenous people of Marondera descend mainly from the [[Shona people|Shona]] royal families of [[Svosve]], and the nearby royal households of [[Chikwaka]] , [[Nyashanu]] and others royal family lives there the [[Mashonganyika]] family etc. They are traditionally farmers.
Marondera has several very good schools, which have been in operation for many years. The junior schools include Godfrey Huggins, Tapfuma School, Dombotombo School, [[Springvale House]], Digglefold,R.G Mugabe Primary School, Nyamei Primary School, Ruware Primary School and [[Ruzawi School]] and the senior schools are [[Marondera High|Marondera High School]], [[Peterhouse Boys' School]], [[Peterhouse Girls' School]], [[Rakodzi High]], [[Watershed College]], Nyameni High, Cherutombo High, Chitepo Secondary, [[Bernard Mizeki College]], [[Waddilove High School]] & [[Nagle House]]. ==Economy==
One of the earliest centres of white settlement in the former colony of [[Southern Rhodesia]], Marondera is one of the centres of Zimbabwe's large forestry and farming district and markets timber, tobacco, corn (maize), beef, and dairy products. Marondera also has industrial estates for manufacturing and factories etc., supermarkets, large commercial businesses, small businesses, a football stadium called Rudhaka stadium, recreational facilities and provincial government offices as well as a provincial hospital and clinics and is also home to the police provincial headquarters. Marondera town is represented by a member of parliament and is also home to the governor of mashonaland east province.

One of the most thriving enterprises in Marondera is the bakery industry which is seen by the presence of Proton Bakeries.
