The university premises is spread over an area of 236 Kanals on the premises of once factory of Rosin and Turpentine. Initially, it was a Haripur campus of Hazara University established in March 2008. The campus was upgraded to full-fledged University of Haripur by the Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in 2012.[11][12]
