In the 1970s while living in London, Cadell was a model, a "page 3 girl", and the face of Miner's Make-up with whom she had a modeling contract. Cadell made a number of British television appearances in the 1970s and also appeared in the July 1975 (Volume 10 no 7) issue of men's magazine Mayfair. Her film credits from this time include The Ups and Downs of a Handyman (1975), The Golden Lady (1979), Spaced Out (1979),[4]
Personal life
Cadell was born in Budapest, Hungary during the Hungarian Revolution and was smuggled out of the country to Vienna Austria where she was left at an orphanage. Her father claimed her a few years later and took her to England.[5] She never knew her mother. She attended school in Finchley, England, and worked as an au pair. She married her first husband Andrew Martyn-Smith in the late 1970s and together they became part owners in the London restaurant Du Rollo in Soho. In 1979, they moved to the United States and opened a wine bar called Noses in the Coral Gables area of Miami, Florida. They moved to Los Angeles in the early 1980s and were amicably divorced a few years later. In 1992, Ava Cadell married Los Angeles criminal defense attorney Peter L. Knecht who died on October 3, 2014.
