Alison Fanelli is an American pediatric surgeon and former actress who is best known for the role of Ellen Josephine Hickle on the television series The Adventures of Pete & Pete.
Early life and education
Fanelli was born in Northport, New York. She attended Northport High School where her talents were on display for the Powdered Wigs Drama Department, and as a percussionist for the Northport High School Drumline.[citation needed] She is a 2001 graduate of Goucher College, where she earned a bachelor's degree in pre-med, and Dartmouth College, where she earned a master's degree in Health Care Improvement. While at Dartmouth, Fanelli was a project manager for a web-based project to develop a secure online database for the Institutional Review Board, IRBnet.[1]

After Dartmouth, Fanelli worked as a physician's assistant at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia.[4] As of 2012[update], she is a pediatric surgeon.[7]
