He was an activist and writer who took active part in JP movement[1] Harish Chandra Baxipatra (November 17, 1933– October27, 2000) was Indian politician from the State of Orissa. He was member of Orissa Legislative Assembly from Jeypore constituency during 1957–1967 and became a minsiter.[2]

Later he represent State of Orissa in Rajya Sabha during 1967–1970 and 1970–1976. He was from Bhawanipatna, Kalahandi.

He had 4 sons and 2 daughter.Dr. Lopamudra Buxipatra-former state women commission of Orissa
