"Good Form" is a song by American rapper and singer Nicki Minaj, from her fourth studio album, Queen, which was released on August 10, 2018. A remix to the song featuring American rapper Lil Wayne was released on November 29, 2018 as the fourth single from the album. It was written by Minaj, Michael Williams II, and Asheton Hogan; and was produced by Mike Will Made It and Plush.[2][3]

"Good Form" debuted on the US Billboard Bubbling Under Hot 100 singles chart at number nine following the album release.

Background and recording

"Good Form" was written by Minaj, along with Mike WiLL Made-It l, Plu$$. Production of the song was handled by Plu$$ and Mike WiLL,Aubry "Big Juice" Delaine was responsible for the song's recording, and he was assisted by Nick Valentin, Kenta Yonesaka ,Jason Staniulis.[4] Jaycen Joshua mixed "Good Form".Chris Athens solely responsible for "Good form"'s mastering.[5]

Critical reception

Briana Younger of Pitchfork commented about the song: "the twerk-ready “Good Form” showcase the rapper’s inimitable technique... Little tricks, like her play on the phonetics of “good form,” which she alternates to sound like “good for him,” are the kind of flourishes that set her apart" [11], Maeve McDermott from USA Today was positive towards the song; she stated, "[the song] is peak Nicki bravado – chest puffing and explicit – and a fitting counterpart to "LLC," as a pair of tracks with the stinging lyricisms and bratty flows at which Minaj excels."[12] Israel Daramola of Spin listed the song as being a standout track from the album.[13] In HipHopDX, Trent Clark called it a "fraternal filler."[14]

Live performances

Minaj first performed the song at the 2018 MTV Europe Music Awards on November 4, 2018, in a medley of "Good Form", "Majesty" and "Woman Like Me" with Little Mix.[15][16]

In the media

"Good Form" was featured in a Mercedes-Benz commercial advert with Minaj featured, released on March 29, 2018.[17][18][19] Instrumentals from the song could be heard at one point during the advertisement.[20]

Remix

The remix of "Good Form" featuring Lil Wayne was released on November 29, 2018 as the fourth single from Queen.[a][26] A music video for the song was also released.[27] Directed by Colin Tilley, it stars Minaj and Wayne along with reality star Evelyn Lozada, actress Lauren London, the Clermont twins, and rapper Tyga.[28][29][30] Rolling Stone described the video as "a full-length monument to twerking, and a sensual overload", as well as "an Oscar contender of a music video".[28]
