:Category:Japanese noise rock groups is a more specific subcategory of Category:Noise musical groups, so the second one gets removed for being redundant. Same for Category:Japanese psychedelic rock music groups and Category:Psychedelic musical groups. The other categories I removed because there were way too many and those were not in the infobox. After looking at the Musical style and influence section, I see it lists 22 genres, many being more specific subgenres of others also listed. Template:Infobox_musical_artist#genre prefers to limit genres to four, wouldn't it make sense for the categories to be around that number too? Regardless of whether they're sourced, there's no way we should categorize them by every one. Xfansd (talk) 22:14, 11 December 2018 (UTC) |

Hi Xfansd |
|||
We're working to measure the value of Wikipedia in economic terms. We want to ask you some questions about how you value being able to edit Wikipedia. |
|||
Our survey should take about 10-15 minutes of your time. We hope that you will enjoy it and find the questions interesting. All answers will be kept strictly confidential and will be anonymized before the aggregate results are published. Regretfully, we can only accept responses from people who live in the US due to restrictions in our grant-based funding. |
|||
As a reward for your participation, we will randomly pick 1 out of every 5 participants and give them $25 worth of goods of their choice from the Wikipedia store (e.g. Wikipedia themed t-shirts). Note that we can only reward you if you are based in the US. |

Kenshin Kaden
I noticed you have been editing the Kenshin articles so I wanted to show you this interview. It's from the guidebook "Kenshin Kaden" but I have no idea about its page numbers. Cheers.Tintor2 (talk) 20:54, 19 January 2018 (UTC)
- I've just been cleaning up the list of characters page because its been tagged with issues since 2009. I found a picture of the table of contents page for Kenshin Kaden here. I can't read Japanese but it seems like the interview with Watsuki is split into three parts so there is no way to tell which part is the one you posted. Xfansd (talk) 22:52, 19 January 2018 (UTC)
- User Tranquilhope knows Japanese so I think he might help with this if we ask him.Tintor2 (talk) 23:35, 19 January 2018 (UTC)
- I can make out "和月伸宏インタビュー・" (Watsuki Nobuhiro Interview・). But like I said there are four of those; pages 032, 052, 090, and 144. We do not know which of those matches the translation you linked to. Tranquilhope would not be able to help with that unless he has the book. Xfansd (talk) 01:30, 20 January 2018 (UTC)

About Kenshin's timeline, I'm pretty sure the Hiruma brothers tell Sanosuke they met six months ago.Tintor2 (talk) 03:04, 8 December 2018 (UTC)
- I checked, you're right. So the entire series takes place in six months then I guess. Xfansd (talk) 03:39, 8 December 2018 (UTC)
reverting my contribution on the cover of a japanese song
Thank you for the feedback why you reverted my contribution, i didn't know an article of the group was necessary. I will take caution next time.
Associated acts
There were associated acts in One Ok Rock from before but you have erased them all. Why? AllTimeChampion17 (talk) 04:12, 15 March 2018 (UTC)
- I put it in my edit summary twice. Read Template:Infobox_musical_artist#associated_acts. That section is not for "One-time collaboration for a single song" or "Groups that have played or toured together." It is for bands that they have collaborated with on "multiple occasions." None of the bands that were listed there qualify. Xfansd (talk) 19:41, 15 March 2018 (UTC)
Band-Maid Names
Here are some sources (among many others) on the family names of Band-Maid members, showing that the names are used in media coverage: [1], [2], [3], [4], [5]. Their record company has used Miku's family name too: [6]. Comparing their names to Madonna's use of a stage name is inaccurate. ---DOOMSDAYER520 (Talk|Contribs) 12:53, 1 May 2018 (UTC)
- Some of those are obviously fansites that don't qualify as reliable sources. But I'm not saying those are not their real names, let's just accept them as correct. The issue is that, with the exception of Miku, they use mononymous stage names. This is why their record company and official website only give Miku's last name. So yes, it is exactly like Madonna. Her last name isn't a secret, but no one would ever refer to her by it. And as such, her and every other musician's article uses their stage names throughout and not their birth names (Slash, Freddie Mercury, etc.) per WP:COMMONNAME. The Band-Maid article should be no different. I am the one trying to put the article inline with Wikipedia's standards. Xfansd (talk) 21:17, 1 May 2018 (UTC)
Chinese metal listed at Redirects for discussion
An editor has asked for a discussion to address the redirect Chinese metal. Since you had some involvement with the Chinese metal redirect, you might want to participate in the redirect discussion if you have not already done so. Polyamorph (talk) 11:41, 28 June 2018 (UTC)
Disambiguation link notification for July 15
Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Richard Fortus, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Coachella (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)
It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 09:21, 15 July 2018 (UTC)
You are invited to join the discussion at Talk:List of Fairy Tail characters#New consensus for characters. Lord Sjones23 (talk - contributions) 02:30, 3 September 2018 (UTC)Template:Z48
- Sorry, but I'm way, way behind on Fairy Tail and therefore can't give an opinion on the characters in question as I have no idea who they are. Xfansd (talk) 02:48, 3 September 2018 (UTC)
Hi, I'm RonBot, a script that checks new non-free file uploads. I have found that the subject image that you recently uploaded was more than 5% in excess of the Non-free content guideline size of 100,000 pixels. I have tagged the image for a standard reduction, which (for jpg/gif/png/svg files) normally happens within a day. Please check the reduced image, and make sure that the image is not excessively corrupted. Other files will be added to Category:Wikipedia non-free file size reduction requests for manual processing. There is a full seven-day period before the original oversized image will be hidden; during that time you might want to consider editing the original image yourself (perhaps an initial crop to allow a smaller reduction or none at all). A formula for calculation the desired size can be found at WP:Image resolution, along with instructions on how to tag the image in the rare cases that it requires an oversized image (typically about 0.2% of non-free uploads are tagged as necessarily oversized). Please contact the bot owner if you have any questions, or you can ask them at Wikipedia talk:Non-free content. RonBot (talk) 17:12, 23 September 2018 (UTC)
Use appropriate warnings
If you have reverted someone because their edit is unsourced, then give them a warning for unsourced content, not vandalism. Giving vandalism warnings for good faith edits is disruptive. -- ferret (talk) 00:24, 25 September 2018 (UTC)
- They acknowledged my edit summaries asking for a source first, then when they continued to revert I used the Template:Uw-vandalism1 series which use different terminology depending on which level is chosen. Are there other template to use instead? Xfansd (talk) 00:28, 25 September 2018 (UTC)
- Uw-unsourced1. Ignoring your edit summary doesn't change it to vandalism. Vandalism is direct bad faith editing. -- ferret (talk) 00:40, 25 September 2018 (UTC)
- Full list of warning series is here -- ferret (talk) 01:24, 25 September 2018 (UTC)
ArbCom 2018 election voter message
Hello, Xfansd. Voting in the 2018 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23.59 on Sunday, 3 December. All users who registered an account before Sunday, 28 October 2018, made at least 150 mainspace edits before Thursday, 1 November 2018 and are not currently blocked are eligible to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.
The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.
If you wish to participate in the 2018 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 18:42, 19 November 2018 (UTC)
Adding unsourced information
You seem like you've been around a while, so you already know that sources are required, and it's probably just an oversight that you added unsourced information here [7] (to an article that already has been marked as refimprove). Could you please add a reliable source to support your edit? Thanks. Bakazaka (talk) 22:08, 27 November 2018 (UTC)

Boris genre categories
Hi, can I ask what criteria you used to determine which categories to remove and which to keep in this edit? Thanks.--MASHAUNIX 20:33, 11 December 2018 (UTC)
- Category:Japanese noise rock groups is a more specific subcategory of Category:Noise musical groups, so the second one gets removed for being redundant.
