Dialing 1-5-7-1 in the UK will connect you to the answerphone service or voicemail. There are a number of services available from the phone providers however the basic free service still allows people to leave messages whilst the phone line is in use. A big advantage over a standard Answering Machine. To indicate waiting voicemail, the dial tone becomes intermittent.
