Utica High School is a public high school located in the Metropolitan Detroit region in the city of Utica, Michigan. The school was established in 1876 in the City of Utica, but is now located on border of Shelby Township and Utica. Utica High School is a part of Utica Community Schools and serves students in grades 10–12. Once the locale of the Utica Center for Mathematics, Science, and Technology, Utica's current student enrollment is 1,581, and is growing every year. Utica's students come from Eppler, Jeannette, and Shelby Junior High schools. In 2008, the school participated in Michigan's "Open School" platform. This change is expected to add 8–20 new students at the end of each academic year.The school's yearbook, Warrior, was inducted to the MIPA Hall of Fame in 2002; the newspaper, Arrow, was inducted in 2018. Both publications have won multiple Sparty Awards and Arrow was just given the silver crown award from Columbia University. [3]
Demographics
As of the 2013-2014 school year, the school had a total enrollment of 1301. Of that, 1150 were white (88.39%), 58 were African American (4.46%), 40 were Asian (3.07%), 35 were Hispanic (2.69%), 11 were bi-racial (0.85%), 4 were native Hawaiian (0.31%), and 3 were Native American (0.23%).[4]

Utica competes in the Macomb Area Conference.[5] The football team plays their home games at Swinehart Field which they share with crosstown rival Eisenhower.[6]
