Marvel HQ India is an Indian children's television channel owned by Disney India Media Networks featuring Marvel Entertainment shows and movies. The channel targets children ages 9 and up,[2] while including the whole family, with action and adventure animation and live action.[2]
History
The Marvel HQ channel was officially launched on 20 January 2019 to replace Disney XD (India).[1] Disney India see Marvel as a "pop-culture phenomenon" as the reason to have a dedicated Marvel channel.[3] At air time, the main Marvel programming would consist of four animated shows with additional animated series added or seasons started in March 2019.[1]
Programming
Marvel HQ programs two prime-time day parts, afternoon and evening. Marvel shows and movies, accounting for 40% of the schedule,[3] would be supplemented with similar themed show from other providers and libraries to bring in other viewers.[1] The amount of Marvel content would rise over time. Marvel movies would be shown on Saturday and Sunday.[2] At air time, the main Marvel programming would consist of four animated shows:[1]
- Avengers Assemble with season 5, Black Panther's Quest, starting in March
- Ultimate Spiderman
- Guardians of the Galaxy
- Hulk and the Agents of S.M.A.S.H.
- Marvel Rising: Secret Warriors (March 2019—[1])
- Future Avengers (summer 2019—[3])
