Marvel HQ India is an Indian children's television channel owned by Disney India Media Networks featuring Marvel Entertainment shows and movies. The channel targets children ages 9 and up,[1] while including the whole family, with action and adventure animation and live action.[1] Marvel HQ is also the name of Marvel's YouTube channel for kids launched in October 2017.[2]

History

The Marvel HQ channel was officially launched on 20 January 2019 to replace Disney XD (India).[3] Disney India see Marvel as a "pop-culture phenomenon" as the reason to have a dedicated Marvel channel.[4] At air time, the main Marvel programming would consist of four animated shows with additional animated series added or seasons started in March 2019.[3]

Programming

Marvel HQ programs two prime-time day parts, afternoon and evening. Marvel shows and movies, accounting for 40% of the schedule,[4] would be supplemented with similar themed show from other providers and libraries to bring in other viewers.[3] The amount of Marvel content would rise over time. Marvel movies would be shown on Saturday and Sunday.[1] At air time, the main Marvel programming would consist of four animated shows:[3]
