After the Nizam captured Golconda in 1724 from the Moghuls, he camped near the fort in a village. Later it was renamed Asifnagar.[5] A few structures consisting of Rajasthani-Mewar- style architecture, with jharokas, arches and stone nets have been found[6], indicating a its historic connection with other kingdoms during the time of Nizams.
