Nick Boynton (b. January 14 1979, in Nobleton, Ontario) is a professional Ice Hockey Defenseman in the NHL, playing for the Phoenix Coyotes.

Minor Hockey

Nick grew up playing minor hockey in the Nobleton Minor Hockey Association (OMHA) before graduating to the Richmond Hill-Vaughan Kings AAA program in 1991-92. He then was signed by the Caledon Canadians Jr.A. team for the 1994-95 season.

Boynton was the first round choice (2nd overall) of the Ottawa '67's in the 1995 OHL Priority Selection.

Playing Career

Boynton has played all 4 of his NHL seasons for Boston. He was drafted in the 1999 NHL Entry Draft by Boston. (He was originally drafted by the Washington Capitals in the 1997 NHL Entry Draft.) His best season was 2003-04 when he had 30 points. During the NHL lockout season of 2004-05, Boynton played for the Nottingham Panthers in the British Elite Ice Hockey League. On June 26, 2006, he was traded to the Phoenix Coyotes in exchange for fellow defenseman Paul Mara.
