Alternatives: Global, Local, Political is a peer-reviewed academic journal that publishes papers in the field of international relations. The journal's editor is Lacin Idil Oztig (Yildiz Technical University). It has been in publication since 2005 and is currently published by SAGE Publications in association with Centre for the Study of Developing Societies.
Scope
Alternatives aims to explore the possibilities of new forms of political practice and identity under increasingly global conditions. The journal promotes a range of critical, normative and interdisciplinary approaches to political, social, cultural and ecological developments.

Alternatives is abstracted and indexed in, among other databases: SCOPUS, and the Social Sciences Citation Index. According to the Journal Citation Reports, its 2017 impact factor is 0.321, ranking it 76 out of 85 journals in the category 'International Relations'.[1]
