"Think About Us" is a song by British girl group Little Mix and appears as the third track on their fifth album LM5. A remixed version featuring rapper Ty Dolla Sign was released on 25 January 2019 and serves as the second single from the album. The single peaked at number 34 in the UK and number nine in Scotland.

Background and release

"Think About Us" was written by Camille Purcell, Linus Nordstrom and Frank Nobel. The remixed version of the song also lists Tyrone William Griffin Jr (Ty Dolla Sign) as a writer. The song was announced as the second single from LM5 on 22 January 22 2019 via the group's Twitter account.[1]

Critical reception

Michael Silver from Billboard called the song a "danceable track".[2] Brittany Spanos from Rolling Stone labelled the song "A booming, dance-y power ballad" and further went on to say, "Think About Us" "has the group wondering about whether a partner is as invested in the relationship as they are".[3]

Artwork

The artwork for the song was released along with the release of the single itself. The artwork features each member of the group in four separate coloured boxes, striking different poses. The image has been often compared by fans to the artwork for the groups debut album DNA.[citation needed]

Music video

Background

The music video was directed by Bradley and Pablo who described their ideas when working on the video: "We wanted to help continue their mission to show a version of themselves which felt more authentic or honest".[4] The video was released on the 15 February 2019 on Vevo.

Synopsis

The video starts with Perrie laying in a meadow with butterflies all around her and then the group all together in a pearl white room wearing matching white latex outfits. Jade then appears dancing in snow, followed by Jesy dancing with a man in front of a sunset-like cloud backdrop. Leigh-Anne also dances with her real-life boyfriend Andre Grey on a motorcycle with green lighting. Featured artist Ty Dolla Sign also makes an appearance alongside the group on two occasions, once laying down with a mass of people and then stood with a white background and hoods. The video ends with a black screen and white text crediting the directors.

Live performances

Little Mix performed "Think About Us" for the first time on The Graham Norton Show on 14 December 2018.[5] The group performed the song again at The BRITs Are Coming show on the 12 January 2019.[6] They then went abroad to perform the song on The Voice of Holland along with their previous single "Woman Like Me" on 1 February 2019.[citation needed]
