Sangeetha Bhat is an Indian actress who predominantly appears in Kannada films. She has also acted in Tamil and Telugu films.

Career

Before taking on movie roles, Bhat had appeared in several television roles. She began her film career with Preethi Geethi Ityaadi in 2014, where she was given the lead role, alongside Pawan Wadeyar. Since then, she has been involved in work such as Doo, Kakki, and Maamu Tea Angadi, none of which were box office hits. Bhat was featured in the Tamil movie titled Aarambamae Attagaram which is generally considered a flop, but in 2017 more successful films such as Eradane Sala and Dayavittu Gamanisu came her way. The movie Eradane Sala was highly appreciated by her fans because of her uncharacteristically bold performance.^[1] In Dayavittu Gamanisi, she played the lead role alongside Vasishta N. Simha. In this movie, she played the character of a teacher. She also recorded a love song with Vashista. In the movie Tagaru (2018) she had a brief appearance. Recently she played the lead role in the movie Kismath along with Vijay Raghavendra. Her upcoming movie Alidu Ulidavaru is still in the making process. The actress has also produced and acted in the short movie named "Conversation."

Controversy

On 14th October 2018, through a three-page revelation, she kick-started the #MeToo movement in the Kannada film industry. Various celebrities came out in support, which led to further revelations^[2]
