Farid Behmardi (Template:Lang-fa), a member of the Baha'i community in Iran, was executed on June 10, 1986. [1] His name is on the list of Bahá'ís from Iran in a report published by the Baha’i International Community. [2][3][4][5][6][7]

Arrest and Execution

Farid Behmardi was one of the members of the third National Spiritual Assembly in Iran. After the 1979 Revolution, he was arrested and taken to Evin Prison by the Islamic Republic of Iran along with seven other members of the third National Spiritual Assembly, including Jahangir Hedayati, Shapour Markazi, Farhad Asdaghi, Ardeshir Akhtari, and Amir Hassan Naderi.[8] He was tortured and executed in prison.[1][2][3][6][9][10] His body was not returned to his family. [3]

Beliefs

Farid believed in the exoneration of the Bahá'ís. He was loyal to Bahá'u'lláh who was the religious leader and the founder of the Bahá'í Faith.[1][2][3][6][11][12]
