Tranquilidade (tranquility in english) is a Portuguese insurance company, founded in Oporto in 1871, is a part of a big Portuguese economic group "Grupo Espirito Santo". The company has enjoyed a lot of highs and lows during its history, and at the moment (year 2006) has a very solid economic presence on the Portuguese insurance market.
Tranquilidade has subsidiaries in several countries, such as Spain, Angola and Mozambique.
