St. Columcille's Hospital (Template:Lang-ga) is a public hospital providing acute-care hospital services and located in Loughlinstown, County Dublin, Ireland. It is managed by the Irish Government's Health Service Executive.

Services

The hospital provides 118 beds, of which 110 are in-patient acute beds, while 8 are reserved for acute day cases.[1] It has a 24-hour emergency department.[1]

Performance

In 2008, the hospital served 44,479 out-patients, and 4,236 in-patients, with an average stay of 10.5 nights.[1] 89.7% of admissions were made via the accident and emergency department or 4,274 patients. In 2007, 23,812 patients presented to the emergency department. The hospital saw 2,735 day cases in the same year.[1] Independent audits rated hygiene levels as 62% satisfactory in 2005,[2] rising to 84% in 2006.[3] The hospital had a Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) infection rate of 0.19 per 1,000 bed days in 2007.[1]
