Big Brother is an upcoming Indian Malayalam-language action comedy film written, directed and co-produced by Siddique. It is jointly produced by S Talkies, Shaman International, and Vaishaka Cynyma. The film stars Mohanlal, Arbaaz Khan, Anoop Menon, Siddique, Chemban Vinod Jose, Vishnu Unnikrishnan, Regina Cassandra, Satna Titus, Tini Tom, Janardanan, and Sarjano Khalid.[2] Big Brother marks the Malayalam film debut of Khan.[3] Deepak Dev will be composing the music for the film. The film is currently undergoing pre-production. Principal photography will begin on 20 June 2019.[4]

Production

In May 2018, Siddique told in an interview to The New Indian Express that his next Malayalam film is with Mohanlal and it would be released in April 2019.[7] Later media outlets reported that the film has been titled Big Brother.[8][9] Soon, Siddique revealed that it is a big budget film laid with action and humour, and it would begin production in November that year. Denying the reports of Nayanthara and Innocent being cast in the film, he said "we are yet to confirm the cast as I have only a basic thread in my mind and am yet to start scripting".[10] Big Brother was officially announced by Mohanlal through his social media handles on 9 October 2018 by sharing a title poster.[11]

The film is a joint production. Siddique and Jenso Jose co-produce the film with their company S Talkies, alongside Shaman International of Shaji and Manu, and Vaishaka Cynyma of Vaishak Rajan. S Talkies also distributes the film.[12] A pooja ceremony of the film was held on 24 April 2019, the video of the ceremony followed by a recording section with music director Deepak Dev was shared by Siddique in his Facebook page.[13] Principal photography is scheduled to begin on 20 June 2019 and Mohanlal would join the film on 1 July 2019 after finishing filming Ittymaani: Made in China. The film will be shot mostly at Bangalore with a few scenes at Kochi. [14]
