Simple Wikipedia (and indeed Wikipedia itself) is not a reliable source. Please read Wikipedia's guidelines on reliable sources. The Times of Israel article you cite explicitly describes LeVay as "Jewish-born" which is not the same as describing him as Jewish. So that source does not support your edit either.
