"Falling in Love" is a song by South Korean girl group 2NE1. The single was released on July 8, 2013 as a digital-only single. The music video was uploaded to YouTube the day before.[2] The video reached more than one million views in less than a day.[3]

Promotion
A snippet of "Falling in Love" was first heard as the intro for 2NE1's comeback performance of "I Love You" on the Seoul Broadcasting System show Inkigayo on June 8, 2012, with CL rapping a verse in English.[6][2][7] A year later, the title of the song and a promo photo was released by YG Entertainment.[8] The single was first originally slated to debut on SBS Inkigayo on July 7, 2013 but the show was cancelled because of the Asiana Airlines Flight 214 crash which killed 3 people.[9][10][11] The single instead debuted on M Countdown on July 11, 2013.[11]
Chart performance
The song debuted at number 11 on the Billboard Korea K-Pop Hot 100 for the week of July 20, 2013.[12] The song has peaked at number 2, making it the second top five hit for the group on the Korean Billboard chart.[13] The song debuted at the top spot on the Gaon Singles Chart with 376,823 downloads in a week.[citation needed]
