Project Twenty1 Film Festival

ATTENTION WIKIPEDIA! This article was previously denied and flagged as a "joke." This is NOT a joke, as I attended Project Twenty1's Launch Event in Philadelphia. You have an article for the 48 Hour Film Project, which is almost the same thing, except this is 21 days long. Both items should be linked as similar festival types. Please delete this text before publishing this article. Thank you!

Project Twenty1 is a film festival & competition where 21 teams have 21 days to create an original short film or animation based on a common secret "Element." The festival takes place in one select city, but is open to filmmakers internationally. All films are screened are screened at a public venue, judged, and released nationally on DVD. The festival was created by Matt Conant, filmmaker, Stephanie Yuhas, animator, and Quang Ly, composer, with the intent of bringing creative-types from all over the filmmaking spectrum together to create original work.

The Beehive Boot

Each year that BYU-Brigham Young University (Provo, Utah), the University of Utah (Salt Lake City, Utah), and Utah State University (Odgen, Utah) all meet on the gridiron, the winner is crowned the best college football team in the state of Utah for that year and recieves The Beehive Boot Trophy. If each team wins one game and loses one game, then the local media votes to decide that year's winner. The Beehive Boot was created in 1971; the boot itself it estimated to be over 100 years old. In its 35-year history, the Beehive Boot has been awarded to BYU 20 times, Utah 10 times, and Utah State 5 times. It currently resides with the Brigham Young Cougars.

Cast and Calendared Vinyl Films - How are they made and whats the difference...

Calendared Vinyl Films are named for their manufacturing process. Vinyl is shredded and heated in a mixing vat until it's in a dough state. It is then pushed through rollers that stretch and form a vinyl sheet or film. The adheasive is then applied.

This process puts a lot of strain and pressure on the vinyl as it is pressed into shape. Causing the film to be thicker than Cast and have more of a memory eg. stays flat and does not conform around curves.

Cast Vinyl Fims are manufactured differently. Instead a combination of liquids and chemical ingredients are mixed and poured onto a flat moving web sheet known as a casting sheet. The sheet then runs through a series of ovens which cure the mixture leaving behind a solid film. The cast process causes less stress on the film and allows for a thinner result. This allows cast films to be more durable and form around compound curves.

William Hale (british inventor)

William Hale, a british inventor, lived from 1797 to 1870. He is credited for improving the Congreve rocket system in 1846 by replacing its long guidance rod with three short vanes reaching into the exhaust gas stream and shaped so as to cause an in-flight rotation of the rocket. This rotation greatly stabilized its flight like that of a rifled bullet and introduced spin-stabilization to rocketry.

(Reasons for this submission: William Hale referenced in the Congreve rocket article is an US american murderer of around 1900, which looked a highly unlikely rocketry inventor. A search with http://www.dogpile.com/info.dogpl/search/web/William%252BHale%252Binventor%252Brockets then found the sources below as well as some more. Presumably, this William Hale was the one meant to appear instead. Regretfully, no more biographical data was found now.)

Don Warren (August, 1964) is a well regarded luthier and the founder and owner of Warren Guitars His electric guitars are played by the likes of Arlen Roth, Buck Dharma Blue Oyster Cult and Dan Toler (Allman Brother's / Dickey Betts)

Warren is originally from Cambridge, New York. He made his first guitar as a way to obtain multiple tones without switching instruments. Catching the eye of a local sound engineer, it was suggested he bring this idea to the masses.

Since that time, Warren Guitars has obtained much praise from reviews on both harmonycentral and from a review done in Vintage GuitarMagazine in April 2006

Arlen Roth Nashville session legend and founder of Hotlicks Video commissioned Don to make his signature model guitar. Warren was thrilled to have the opportunity to make a guitar for the man who had done much of the soundtrack for his favorite blues movie (Crossroads)

Upon completion, Arlen quickly recognized what had been created and was able to put the guitar to use on a number of recordings employing a wide variety of tones without the use of any other guitar.

Movie trailer music creator Robert Etoll enlisted the use of Warren Guitars to provide the wide variety of tones he needs to create his soundtracks.

Warren Guitars hand makes each and every guitar in the U.S.A, using many components he has created that are not available on the commercial market.

Matthew Cappelli

File:M.Cappelli-Princeton Chase.JPG

Standing 4-foot-4, Matt Cappelli is the shortest Division-1 Athlete. Growing up outside of Philadelphia, he went to St. Joseph’s Prep in the city where he took part in Crew (Rowing) and won a high school national championship his freshman year (1999) and placed 2nd the following two years. He later went onto to Syracuse University (2002-2006) to study engineering and be a coxswain, where he held the record for shortest Division-1 athlete in America. Point of interest: some people say he currently resembles Peter Dinklage of Nip/Tuck fame.
