I'll take this on. Parsecboy (talk) 18:56, 26 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

  • Sources:
    • I don't know that theses are considered reliable sources - has Kemper been published elsewhere? Ideally the thesis would have been turned into a book.
      • Good point. I looked it up and according to WP:SCHOLARSHIP "Masters dissertations and theses are considered reliable only if they can be shown to have had significant scholarly influence". I don't think this is the case for Kemper's thesis. I used it because it's in English, but discusses a lot of sources originally in Dutch or Javanese (which I don't read), and because it contains much greater detail about the campaign (because of the thesis's smaller scope) than the more general books. Given the policy, though, I will find other sources for the statements and remove some of them. Please give me some time to do it. HaEr48 (talk) 19:54, 30 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]
    • What ref should "Ricklefs 1985" be pointing to?
    • If Andaya's and Ricklef's newer book aren't being used, they should be moved to a further reading section
  • Images check out.

Thanks Parsecboy for your review. I addressed most of your feedback above. Please give me several days to replace or remove the Kemper references, because I need to look up other sources. HaEr48 (talk) 19:54, 30 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]
@Parsecboy: All Kemper references have been removed. Let me know if there's anything more I can do. HaEr48 (talk) 06:23, 6 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]
It looks good to me - I'll pass it now. Parsecboy (talk) 12:00, 6 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Year in title

@JHunterJ: Re your rename, can we have the year back in the title? I think just "Kediri campaign" is too generic. Kediri is a city (the name can also refer to the region) and according to Kediri (city)#Kediri, the city changed hand many times throughout history, including via military conquest, and all those events could have been described as "Kediri campaign". I don't think the 1678 one could claim primacy over all the other ones. See Wikipedia:Naming conventions (events)#Conventions which also says the majority of events should have the "what", "when", and "where" in the title (like 2011 Tōhoku earthquake or 1993 Russian constitutional crisis), unless the event has such a recognizable common name. Admin attention needed because JHunterJ isn't responding. The page is move protected. HaEr48 (talk) 05:07, 1 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Moved to a name with the year in the title, per Wikipedia:Naming conventions (events)#Conventions. Parenthetical qualifiers are only used for disambiguation. -- JHunterJ (talk) 12:51, 1 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
We now have 1678 Kediri campaign, which makes it hard to find if searching for Kediri campaign. The latter is move protectes, while the former should be, to add to complications. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 14:03, 1 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
The redirect at Kediri campaign makes it easy to find when searching for "Kediri campaign", and follows the naming conventions (Tōhoku earthquake redirects to 2011 Tōhoku earthquake and tsunami, Russian constitutional crisis redirects to 1993 Russian constitutional crisis). -- JHunterJ (talk) 15:13, 1 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
