Why including historical names in article is a good idea and good Wikipedia practice
There was a red link to "Wierzbolow" in the article on Second Northern War. I searched En Wiki for Wierzbolow and found nothing, despite the fact that this article has a {{pl:Wierzbolow}} in it. So I had to go to Polish wiki, find it there, and back track to en wiki to this article.
It would've been much simpler if the name had been in this article in the first place. And the trouble one has to go to (most readers of English Wiki don't have access to Polish Wiki) clearly indicates that the historical name of this place is encyclopedic information.
Keeping out encyclopedic information out of articles simply because it offends some extremist nationalists is not Wikipedia policy, AFAIK.radek (talk) 21:55, 1 December 2009 (UTC)
