Hi. I'm in the process of adding a Spider Engine page. The draft is still under review. I noticed that you deleted a reference to Spider Engine from the [[List_of_WebGL_frameworks]] page. While the Spider Engine draft is in review, I'd like to keep the reference to it in the WebGL frameworks page. There are other frameworks in the same situation (see Whitestorm.js). Can you let me know why Spider Engine was singled out and removed? I'm new to wikipedia and is trying to learn the process, I'd appreciate any additional help I can get from a seasoned user like you. Hi, I work at Microflown Technologies and I've recently edited the "Sound Intensity" page to add some additional theoretical content. Unfortunately the suggested changes were rejected due to a potential conflict of interest. I've added a revised version of the proposed changes to the talk page of the article hoping that this information can be added if suitable. Is this content now more relevant? Is this the conventional way to proceed? Thank you in advance for your time and advice! |

Advice on Git page edit
@Viewmont Viking: Hi VViking, just saw your message on my talk page, thank you.
You have recently undone an edit made on the Git page as alleged spam, so I read the references and I am proposing an improvement in the Git talk page to make it neutral.
Your opinion and advice would be most welcome. Thanks again! KDEWolf (talk) 13:27, 21 April 2019 (UTC)
Muslim Aid
Dear Viewmont Viking
According to the Wikipedia rules, people are not supposed to engage in an editing war as you have been doing today when I edited the Muslim Aid page twice. As a Muslim Aid employee of two years, I know that the information in the Controversy section of the Muslim Aid Wikipedia page is incorrect, unfair and misleading, and that under normal journalistic practice would not be allowed. While such false information online used to have to be tolerated, this is no longer the case in the new, improved climate of expecting online information to be honest information.
Please explain what your background is and why you are re-instating information which falsely implies wrong-doing on the part of Muslim Aid. You said that my editing was 'white-washing' - please explain who you are and what, if any, knowledge you have of the specific allegations.
I can re-edit the information in the Controversy Section in a negotiated way with you but there is no point in my doing so if you are just going to re-instate the old, false text. So, as per the Wikipedia rules, please disclose your reasoning.
If we cannot resolve this situation, we will have to ask for an arbitrator.
thanks

- It takes two to tango and I'm not the one with a clear COI. I'm also not removing sourced material RS. Go ahead as for an arbitrator, however having been an editor for quite a long time, I can tell you it is still pretty early in the process for arbitration. Thank you for your time in posting on my talk page, and now I ask you to bugger off unless you have something really to add to my talk page, or required to do so under WP guidelines. Dear Viewmont Viking
Your message is unfortunately very rude which Wikipedia encourages editors to avoid being. I have of course declared who I am as I have no reason not to, and shows you that I am informed about Muslim Aid. However, you haven't answered my questions of you and given me any idea why you are writing about Muslim Aid in this way. I would be grateful if you could kindly respond to my original enquiries so that we can get a better understanding of this situation, thanks Eileen — Preceding unsigned comment added by Eileen Hester Maybin (talk • contribs) 17:46, 23 April 2019 (UTC)
- Have you even read COI, I do not have a conflict of interest for or against Muslim Aid. That is all you need to know. If you look at my edits I like to edit articles that new editors who have Conflicts of interest edit, whether they are purposely entering in POV material or they don't realize the rules. You have been informed of the rules on COI and POV and RS. I don't need to know anything about the subject to recognize when something is being whitewashed. I can view the reliable sources and tell, now there are differences of opinion on what constitutes RS and if specific information should be included and that should be taken to the articles talk page. Now I kindly ask you to stay off my talk page unless you have something meaningful to add or required by Wikipedia policy. VVikingTalkEdits 18:03, 23 April 2019 (UTC)
Green Dot
I'll agree with you that some of my edits were too promotional and that you should include the entire history but to include this source https://www.oakcreekwi.org/articles/oak-creek-police-warns-residents-to-be-aware-of-fraudulent-tax-returns which points to a 404 page and delete this source https://www.nbcnews.com/business/consumer/green-dot-ending-moneypak-pin-reloads-fight-fraud-n159536 seems a little unfair. I really want to know your reasoning for deleting my source showing that MoneyPak is trying to make a change
- Do you have a COI do you work for, paid by contracted with etc. etc. with GreenDot? If you are are you should not be making any changes directly to the article. If you are paid by them you need to disclose that on your talk page. Instead of going through your multiple promotional items one by one it is easier and normally better to revert the article back to a more stable version. If you wish to add the NBC news information in you will want to take it to the articles talk page. If you look at my edits, I don't really care that much about the article, I had (as far as I know) never edited Green dot in the past. Every editor at Wikipedia has things they like to do or that they work on. In my case I like to try to keep promotional garbage off the site. If your edits hadn't been mostly promotional or POV whitewashing you I probably wouldn't have cared you added the information from NBCnews. But now that I believe you have a COI and a POV and may be an undisclosed editor I don't feel it is appropriate for you to be working on this particular article at all according to well established wikipedia guidelines.--VVikingTalkEdits 20:31, 3 May 2019 (UTC)
Advert and COI template removal
@Viewmont Viking Why is the advert and COI template popping up again? there were minor changes in article. Also, sources were provided accordingly.

Disambiguation link notification for June 6
Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited DHS (disambiguation), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Davis High School (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Speedy Deletion template removal
@Viewmont Viking Please remove the SPeedy Deletion tag form the Education Matrix article. User MrOllie seems to have gotten a personal thing about the page - I don't know why. I am NOT the author of the term and I am NOT being paid by anyone and I am an industry expert in the general subject area of education technology with a long history of edits on Wikipedia. Thank you for your consideration. Also- I know the article isn't perfect but we are working on it in the spirit of WIkipedia. Alex Jackl (talk) 14:58, 11 June 2019 (UTC)
- Response - Quick question, who are "we"?--VVikingTalkEdits 15:13, 11 June 2019 (UTC)
- As I said on the Education Matrix talk page I was referring to the Wikipedia community of editors not some kind of conspiracy. PLEASE PLEASE assume good faith. I am not trying to push some evil agenda. I am willing to back away form the page but my request is let it sit for a while and I predict people will start editing it because it is a real thing and that will become apparent if it is left up for more than two days.Alex Jackl (talk) 16:05, 11 June 2019 (UTC)

This isn't vandalism, I merely request to properly update my dear friend Alfred III 'The Stanky-Leg' of House Jones, 16th in line to English Throne, The Unburnt, The Sword of Jesus, Alfonso, Alfah, Aflie, Aflickator, Alfation, Aflahmed, A, Rightful King of the Jones and Destroyer of the Smiths to his rightful status.

Saint Louis University edits
What's up? I would just like to clarify the major removal of information from the page? Some of the information are those known to students and faculty alike, not really advertisement but removed. There was also info removed that I did not place. Please clarify Ejeigh123 (talk) 14:36, 19 June 2019 (UTC)
Hello @Viewmont Viking:? Why just remove every single edit I made on that page you deem "promotional"? Why not look at the pages of other Philippines universities? Or are singling out this particular page. And before I returned that edit I tried to talk to you here and yet no response. And look at the edits you made. Very hasty. Some information remained while others were just deleted and the punctuations were gone, with some spacing left. Please clarify and look into this. I would very much like this to be settled soon because my school's page is in a mess. Thank you very much.--Ejeigh123 (talk) 09:54, 1 July 2019 (UTC)
Oceana
For the cut you made. Generally, it's just more information about the organization, so I thought it wouldn't hurt to add. Sorry about the sourcing, but the last admin (GoingBatty) cut the primary source.
Also, what exactly makes a link to a more comprehensive list "spam." In response to you newer reason for that deletion "external link," Wikipedia's policy states that "Some acceptable links include those that contain further research that is accurate and on-topic, information that could not be added to the article for reasons such as copyright or amount of detail." I include this external link because of its excessive detail, especially when one compares what is on that page to similar sections on more developed nonprofit wikipedia pages.
I hope you will discuss this with me before simply deleting my work.

Oceana 2
Would you be so kind as to not simply delete things we disagree that I've asked you about without discussing them. Not only is it rude, it makes actually improving the page nearly impossible. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Toad02 (talk • contribs) 19:24, 25 June 2019 (UTC)
- Do you have a COI with this organization. I have taken the conversation to the talk page of the article. I am not the one adding poor sourced, unsourced, and promotional material to the article. You may also wish to review WP:BRD. You are the one who if you are reverted should take it to the talk page. If you have a COI you shouldn't be editing this article directly at all. The whole thing is written like a press release and your edits are adding to the problem. So I have discussed it in both the edit summary and on the articles talk page. If it is nearly impossible to edit in PR stuff into the article then good.--VVikingTalkEdits 19:28, 25 June 2019 (UTC)
- You still haven't responded to the COI question? As for the external link I'm not sure how you do not see a link to the organizations so called successes is not spam. --VVikingTalkEdits 19:39, 25 June 2019 (UTC)
Not really. I'm a fan of the organization to be honest. I'd also recommend using my personal talk page, especially for questions about me. That external link, although biased, is to a government recognized charity, so I'm under the impression it's required to be factual — Preceding unsigned comment added by Toad02 (talk • contribs) 19:51, 25 June 2019 (UTC)

Dear Vievmont Viking Thank you for reminding about the community guidelines on updating living persons biographies. As a disclosure, I did once work for the person I was updating, but I do not do so anymore. Today I work as a freelance design writer, so I therefore have a lot of knowledge about his work, and I believed the page needed substantial updating. I believe I tried to do this neutrally, and that is why I insisted on referencing all the added materiel. I was slightly dissappointed in your first response by dismissing everything out of hand. The page hadn't had an update since 2014 and there was a lot of information which could have been added. In your second response you've proceeded to delete significant information which was in the original article before my edit (such as the Biomega article). I find that strange. I'll proceed to add a few links to other wiki-pages that you've removed and then leave it to you. tnoppenTnoppen (talk) 13:41, 1 July 2019 (UTC)
Advertising about spamming
Hello! I think that links I'm adding to different wikipedia articles are of great added value, as they provide visual material of marine life on its natural environment. Most articles lack of this kind of material, therefore I think could be of great interest for readers.
Do you have any sort of Conflict of Interest with the organization you are linking to?--VVikingTalkEdits 13:53, 3 July 2019 (UTC)
I don't have any conflict of interest, nor I think this would affect the reliability of the links and the website itself. As far as I know it is a non-profit organisation. Regarding the links, wikipedia itself enabled a system to ease the posting of the links, making it faster.
Okay sounds good. Thank you for the quick response. --VVikingTalkEdits 14:04, 3 July 2019 (UTC)
Thank you too. Would be great to have the links back, or know of which articles they were removed to.
I didn't remove them from any of the articles.--VVikingTalkEdits 15:40, 3 July 2019 (UTC)

Deletion of Spider Engine reference

While the Spider Engine draft is in review, I'd like to keep the reference to it in the WebGL frameworks page. There are other frameworks in the same situation (see Whitestorm.js).
