Gitarkameratene is the name used for the norwegian singers Lillebjørn Nilsen, Halvdan Sivertsen, Jan Eggum and Øystein Sunde when they are together. Hence, Gitarkameratene is to be considered as a superband. The name Gitarkameratene can roughly be translated as "The guitar friends" or "The guitar companions".

The four singers used the name for the first time when they was turning together in 1988. They released two records in 1989 and 1990, which became a big succes. Since then they have been playing together in various occasions. While all four work on their own stuff, they are working together as well in concerts as well as recordings.

When Espen Lind, Kurt Nilsen, Askil Holm and Alejandro Fuentes are playing toghether, they have often been refered to as De Nye Gitarkameratene ("The new guitar companions"). However, they have not used this name officially. This led to Lillebjørn Nilsen sending a complaining letter to Espen Lind. Lind replied and said that they had not used the name officially and that they actually did not feel comfortable with the name.
