When he was 12 his mother died of cancer and two years later his family returned to live in Petah Tikva. Nechi Nech is one of the most-popular rappers in Israel.[2] His stage name was derived from the Amharic word "Nech" (ነጭ, meaning: white), most of Plotnik's childhood friends were Ethiopians and called him so affectionate.[3]
In 2003 he funded the "Produx" band with his friends Shmuel "Aristo" Yosef and Shimshon "Chichu" Adama.
