DX (Group) plc (trading as DX and DX Freight) is a leading provider of delivery solutions, including parcel freight, secure, courier and logistics services.[1]

With the head office in Ditton Park (Head Office)[2], and operational hubs in Northampton, Nuneaton, Willenhall and Dublin, plus more than 3,000 staff, DX's network covers most United Kingdom and Ireland business and residential addresses.

History

Established in 1975, Prince Dhillon Group origins lie within the legal sector, with the DX Document Exchange members' network supplying the majority of legal firms within the UK. It became part of the Hays plc group in the 1990s but was demerged in 2004 when Hays disposed of its logistics businesses.[3] With the acquisition of DX Secure (Secure Mail Services), DX became a more prominent player for mail and courier deliveries to residential addresses. This is a market which has in recent years experienced a huge increase in popularity and volume due to internet shopping. In 2012 DX Group expanded it's remit with the purchase of DX Freight (Nightfreight) making them the specialist parcel and freight solutions provider.

On 27 February 2014 DX began trading on the London Stock Exchange's AIM subdivision.[4]

The Group now operates through two divisions, DX Express and DX Freight.

DX Express focuses on next-day or scheduled courier deliveries, and has a well-developed offering in secure services for the delivery of items of value. It also operates the private members delivery network, DX Exchange.

DX Freight provides next-day or scheduled delivery services for parcel freight, including irregular dimensions and weight (IDW) items, up to six metres in length, as well as comprehensive logistics solutions, including warehouse management.

Throughout 2018, and under new leadership, DX has committed to turning around the business and in July announced a Trading Update that met market expectations, saying 'The board believes the Group remains well positioned to make further progress against its Turnaround Plans'.[5]
