Rahul Chaudhari (born 16 June 1993) is an Indian professional Kabaddi player who plays for Tamil Thalaivas after spending six seasons with Telugu Titans. He started playing Kabaddi as a Defender but later on became a Raider. He is currently one of the most prominent raiders in the Vivo Pro Kabaddi League and second most successful raider. He was a member of the Indian National Kabaddi team that won gold medal in the 2016 South Asian Games. [2]

He was born in Bijnor district of Uttar Pradesh where he started playing Kabaddi.

Kabaddi career

Telugu Titans

Chaudhari scored 151 raid points in Season 1[when?]. In the second season, he scored 98 raid points and 9 tackle points, and the third season saw him score 87 raid points and with 12 tackle points with a 41.37% tackle. success rate.[1]

Rahul was adjudged the best raider of Season 4[according to whom?] after finishing the league as the top-scoring raider with 146 raid points and 11 tackle points. The Telugu Titans reached the semi finals where they lost; Chaudhari took 14 raid points in the game. He was made captain of the Telugu Titans in Season 5, and finished the campaign with 193 points – 184 raid points and 9 tackle points. [1]

For Season 6, Chaudhari was again bought by Telugu Titans for Rs 1,29,00,000, ending the season with 159 raid points and 7 tackle points.[1]

Tamil Thalaivas

The Tamil Thalaivas bought Chaudhari for Season 7, after biding Rs 94,00,000 for him in the auction.[1]

International

Chaudhari has been playing with the Indian National Kabaddi Team regularly since the 2014-15 season. He was part of the team when they won gold medals in the 2016 South Asian Games, the 2016 Kabaddi World Cup, the 2017 Asian Kabaddi Championship, and the 2018 Dubai Kabaddi Masters, as well as for the 2018 Asian Games where India shared the bronze medal with Pakistan.
