STEVE LOTER (Director/Producer) was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York. He attended the High School of Art and Design in Manhattan. Upon graduation, Loter was hired by Walt Disney Consumer Products, where he worked for five years illustrating Disney’s Classic Characters for all kinds of merchandise. His work in New York also included comic work for DC Comics and design for Jim Henson Productions.
Loter began his career in animation and relocated to Los Angeles to work on “The Ren & Stimpy Show.” He then directed a variety of diverse animated projects ranging from pre-school to adult and everything in-between. His credits include “Baby Huey” for Universal, “Duckman”, “Rocket Power” and “Stressed Eric” for Klasky Csupo, Kevin Smith’s “Clerks: The Animated Series” for Miramax, “The Penguins Of Madagascar” for Nickelodeon, “The Legend of Tarzan,” and “Happy Monster Band,” for Disney. He was the supervising director/producer on “American Dragon: Jake Long,” and “Kim Possible” and two ‘Kim Possible” movies, “A Sitch In Time” and “So The Drama” for Disney Television Animation. He has also directed a variety of music videos including Tally Hall’s popular “Hidden In The Sand” video for Atlantic Records and contributed album artwork for many musicians including Graham Parker, Bleu and Pugwash. Steve directed and wrote (with Tom Rogers) the Disneytoons theatrical feature, “Tinkerbell And The Legend Of The Neverbeast” which was executive produced by John Lasseter. Loter recently announced he is executive producing two animated series for Disney TV Animation including 'The Curse Of Molly McGee' and 'Marvel's Moon Girl And Devil Dinosaur'.
Loter has been nominated for five Emmy® Awards including the two he won for directing Nickelodeon’s “Penguins of Madagascar”.

Steve Loter is an American director and producer known for his animated work in television.

Loter is perhaps best known as the director and producer of Kim Possible, Brandy and Mr. Whiskers, American Dragon: Jake Long. Loter also directed the Happy Monster Band, Buzz Lightyear of Star Command, and Disney's The Legend of Tarzan series, as well as episodes of The Ren & Stimpy Show, Duckman, Stressed Eric and Kevin Smith's Clerks The Animated Series.[citation needed]

He has recently been credited as an animation director for The Penguins of Madagascar, which won a Primetime Emmy Award in 2012 for Outstanding Animated Program.[1] He is also creating a webcomic called Very Bad Koalas with actor Nicholas Brendon (Buffy the Vampire Slayer).[citation needed]
