Christina "Tina" Neal is a volcanologist and an honoree for the Samuel J. Heyman Service to America Medals.[1] In 2015 she because head scientist at the USGS Hawaiian Volcano Observatory, succeeding Jim Kauahikaua. Prior to this she worked as a geologist with the Alaska Volcano Observatory and was the first USGS geoscience advisor to the Office of U.S. Foreign Disaster Assistance.[2] She holds a bachelor's degree in geological sciences from Brown University and a master's degree in geology from Arizona State University.[3]
