Trae tha Truth

Trae (born Frasier Thompson III) is a southern rapper from Houston, Texas who is a part of the underground rap group Screwed Up Click with his cousin Z-Ro. He gained a name on the Houston Rap scene when he was featured on Z-Ro's album Look What You Did to Me. He co-founded the rap group Guerilla Maab which featured his cousin Z-Ro and his brother Dougie D.

Biography

In 2003, he began his solo career with the album, Losing Composure (2003). Same Thing Different Day (2004), and Restless (2006) soon followed. He is currently signed to Rap-A-Lot Records.

He was featured in a video called Yahoo Pepsi Smash Exclusive: Houston Mic Pass with Lil' Flip, Chamillionaire, Chingo Bling, Bun B, Short Dawg, Big Hawk, and Mike D. He also did an official remix for It's Goin' Down by Yung Joc. He gained fame with his first single "Swang".

Trae's trademark is a low deep voice while utilising a fast flow, somewhat reminiscent of Flesh-N-Bone and Z-Ro in the sense multiple vocal layers are often mixed into verses, yet different because Trae does not always use a fast flow or multiple layers and is much more understandable than Flesh-N-Bone.

The song "Real Talk" is featured on Madden NFL 07.

A.B.N., or Assholes by Nature, is a newly formed rap group started by Trae. ABN is Trae's attempt at a true "clique" from Houston. Like the Screwed Up Click, it features all Houston rappers, but the difference is the quick formation of it. Trae has not included Z-Ro or Dougie-D in the group, not out of disrespect, but because he truly wants to be the headliner. [citation needed] The group features an astonishing 26 members.
