Georgios Simos (Template:Lang-el; born 29 March 1978) is a Greek football defender who played as a defender for several Greek Super League clubs, including Chalkidona, AEL and Ionikos. He is the head coach of Greek Super League club OFI Crete.

Career

Born in Ioannina, Simos began playing professional football with Panathinaikos F.C. in 1999.

Coaching career

Simos holds a holds the UEFA Pro Licence. From June 2012 to June 2016, Simos worked as a youth coach for Panathinaikos.[1] In 2012 he worked with the small age groups, in 2013 he joined the K15 team, next year he worked in the K17 team and from 2015 he was in the K20 team.

In the summer 2016, Simos was then hired as assistant manager for AC Omonia.[2] Simos left Omonia along with the rest of the coaching prize at the end of February 2017.[1]

In July 2017, Simos was appointed as the manager of the U-20 squad of AEK Athens.[3] He resigned from his position on 6 February 2019.[4]
