Florian Kamberi (born 8 March 1995) is an Albanian professional footballer, who plays as forward for Scottish Premiership club Hibernian. Kamberi has previously played for Grasshopper and Karlsruher SC. He represented Switzerland at the under-21 level, and has since been selected for the Albania squad.

Club career

Grasshoppers

Kamberi started his professional career with Swiss club Grasshoppers. On 31 August 2016, Kamberi was loaned to Karlsruher SC for the 2016–17 season in 2. Bundesliga.[1][2]

Hibernian

Kamberi went on trial with Scottish Premiership club Hibernian in January 2018,[3] and moved there on loan on 31 January.[4] Kamberi made his debut for Hibernian later that day, and scored the first goal in a 2–1 win against Motherwell.[5] Kamberi scored a hat-trick for Hibs on 3 April, in a 3–1 win against Hamilton.[6][7]

In June 2018, Hibernian signed Kamberi to a three-year contract.[8] Kamberi scored a hat-trick in a Europa League qualifier against NSÍ Runavík on 12 July.[9]

International career

Kamberi was born in Switzerland and is of Kosovan descent,[10][11][12] which made him eligible to represent Switzerland, Kosovo and Albania.[13] Kamberi played in youth internationals for Switzerland,[14] and he scored for their under-21 team in a 1–1 draw against England in March 2016.[15]

Kamberi was included in the Albania squad for the first time in November 2019.[16]
