James W. Goll (born July 3, 1952), formerly known as Jim Goll, is the Director of Prayer Storm (founded 2009), Coordinator of Encounters Alliance, and author. He is the co-founder of Encounters Network. He is involved as an instructor at the Wagner Leadership Institute and is a member of the Harvest International Ministries apostolic team. His ministry strongly focuses on the prophetic and some have called him a prophet (one of the Kansas City Prophets).[1][2]
Goll is the author of numerous books including The Lifestyle of a Prophet (2013) Radical Faith (2011), Deliverance from Darkness (2010), Father Forgive Us! (1999), and Wasted on Jesus (2000). He has also authored several books on intercession and the prophetic: The Prophetic Intercessor Intercession: The Power and Passion to Shape History (2003), The Coming Israel Awakening (2009), The Lost Art of Intercession (1997), Kneeling on the Promises (1999), The Beginner's Guide to Hearing God (2004), The Seer: The Prophetic Power of Visions, Dreams, and Open Heavens (2004), Dream Language: The Prophetic Power of Dreams, Revelations, and the Spirit of Wisdom (2006), and Angelic Encounters (2007). He produced numerous "Study Guides" and hundreds of teaching tapes and CDs. Goll is also a contributing writer to Kairos Magazine and several other periodicals.
In July 2006, Goll was featured with personal friend and Ministry Affiliate, Sandy Powell, in a cover story by P.J. Tobias entitled "Prophets Rising" of the popular publication Nashville Scene.
Goll earned his Doctorate in Practical Ministry from the Wagner Leadership Institute in Colorado Springs, CO. It was awarded by the Chancellor C. Peter Wagner at a special ceremony in May 2006.
James and his now deceased wife and co-founder of Encounters Network, Michal Ann, were married for over 32 years. James has four children from this marriage: Justin, GraceAnn, Tyler, and Rachel. James lives in Franklin, Tennessee.
Triumph Through Suffering
Through a series of illnesses and personal loss, Goll and his late wife Michal Ann have created a legacy of perseverance and hope through hardship. In 2002 Goll was diagnosed with cancer. In 2005 his wife Michal Ann was diagnosed with colon cancer. After a long battle, she passed in the fall of 2008 at age 52. Along with her husband, Michal Ann had co-founded Encounters Network and Women on the Front Lines, and had authored eight books including A Call to Courage and A Call to Compassion.
After battling cancer for a third time in 2009, Goll has been free from the disease. But since that time he has undergone 3 back surgeries resulting in ongoing sciatic nerve damage. These trials have inspired him to write and teach on the topic of finding hope through suffering. Some of his encouraging words are found in an interview with Joni Lamb on Daystar, and in his book Finding Hope: Rediscovering Life after Tragedy.
A singer before he became a preacher, in 2018 Goll produced an album Never Alone with featured song “What the World Needs Now is Love.” He writes, “While some of you might be expecting this to be a worship album, these songs instead tell my story of life, love, family and devotion to God.”[3]
Today, Goll continues his public ministry, teaching online classes, and producing an inspirational podcast entitled God Encounters Today and a blog with Charisma. He is a sought after adviser and a voice in the global prayer and prophetic movements.[4][5][6]
