Lake Seminole Park is an over-250 acre park, located on the shores of Lake Seminole in Pinellas County, Florida. It is home to biking and walking trails, as well as wildlife.[1]
Wildlife
The main wildlife consists of alligators, bald eagles, black vultures, roseate spoonbills, osprey, tiger swallowtail, pickerelweed, river otters, and green tree frogs. The invasive exotic plant reduction project is a volunteer program, where people reduce the reproduction of invasive plants, like pepper trees. The trees that need to be removed have a pink ribbon tied around them so you can see that it needs to be taken out.
Amenities
Besides a normal park, the Lake Seminole Park offers also 13 picnic shelters and a ballfield. Due to a boat ramp people are able to go fishing in the lakes. The most important fishing species in the lakes are bass, crappie, bream, shellcraker, catfish, gar, and carp. Besides fishing, the park is also well known for duck hunting.[2]
The park is also designed for people with wheelchairs, by making the park wheelchair accessible.[1]
